Literacy

• Usborne has several programs to promote literacy in schools, homes, and the community.
  
• Reach for the Stars creates a win/win situation for everyone involved! Kids are rewarded with brand-new, high-quality Usborne Books for reading, and the organization gets free books, too! Altogether 120% of pledge money in books! Schools, libraries, home school groups, preschools, daycares, and children's clubs are just a few of the groups who can benefit from this great program! Even toddlers can take part by being read to--this teaches parents the importance of literacy in the home!
  
• The Incredible Present is a wonderful program that involves the entire community! The school or library gets a wish list full of books purchased by area businesses, and Usborne donates additional books to a local charity! The businesses get recognition for their participation in the form of a bookplate in the books they dontate. This frees up the library's budget to better serve its patrons, and is an inexpensive way for the businesses to get their names in front of hundreds of people. Another great win/win program!
  
• No-Fuss Book Fairs can be held by nearly any organization, home school group, school, library, or charity! Earn either 25% and 50% of sales in free books! A great plus--on-line fairs allow distant friends and relatives to participate!
  
• Usborne is dedicated to putting captivating books into the hands of kids. Ownership of at least 25 books is a key indicator of future literacy, according to the National Education Council. Kids who love to read love to learn, and kids who love to learn are more likely to go to college and earn more.
